he Vauban residence is the starting point for the visit of the most extraordinary attractions of the department: the Train Jaune (Yellow train), leaving from Villefranche de Conflent takes you through the Têt valley to the discovery of Roman Churches, Baroque art, military medieval architecture, natural spaces, thermal baths and ski resorts.

ou can also visit the historical center, its Roman church and its numerous retables in the renaissance or baroque art. Villefranche's ramparts are among the few ones conserved undimmed in France. The ramparts are dated at 1090 and were subsequently arranged, up to the XIX century.
